Chinese Mobile Payment Popularity Rate is the First in the World

Recently, Ipsos, a well-known foreign poll, carried out a survey on mobile payments, the survey report shows that Chinese Mobile payment popularity rate is ranked first in the world, up to 77%, far more than the United States and Japan. In addition, 14% of consumers without cash in China, 26% of consumers who carry the amount of cash is less than 100RMB.


It is reported that Ipsos surveyed 18,000 consumers, India’s mobile payment popularity rate is lower than China only one percentage point, and Paytm is replicating Alipay’s barcode payment successful experience to occupy the Indian market. Indonesia and South Korea’s mobile payment popularity rate is 67% and 64%. Japan is the lowest popularity rate in Asia, only 27%. Ipsos believes that the credit card payment service experience is poor in China, India and other developing countries, and mobile payment is very convenient, just password or fingerprint verification. In contrast, the country’s mobile payment development is relatively slow in Japan, the main service of the current Japanese mobile market is for the Chinese tourists.
