In a significant move to expand its footprint in the African market, Rakinda, a leading provider of automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) solutions, hosted a high-level delegation from Angola this week. The delegation, consisting of Mr. Almeida and Ms. Paulina, visited the Rakinda headquarters in Shenzhen to conduct in-depth negotiations regarding large-scale facial recognition device projects.

The meeting focused on the integration of Rakinda’s advanced embedded facial recognition modules into Angola’s rapidly growing security and fintech infrastructure. The discussions align with the recent surge in demand for next-gen biometric authentication in the region, where the market is projected to grow significantly by 2031 .

“We are honored to welcome Mr. Almeida and Ms. Paulina to our facilities,” said a representative from Rakinda. “Angola represents a strategic market for us, especially following recent governmental advancements such as the rollout of the new Angolan e-passport, which utilizes biometric data like facial capture and iris scanning . Our goal is to provide the hardware and software backbone to support similar large-scale identity management systems.”

During the visit, the Angolan representatives toured Rakinda’s R&D labs and witnessed live demonstrations of high-speed facial recognition terminals and liveness detection technology. The technology showcased is designed to meet the specific needs of the Angolan market, including access control for government buildings, workforce management, and banking & financial services .

Mr. Almeida commented, “Rakinda’s technical expertise in AI computer vision and their ability to provide customized OEM solutions for the African climate and infrastructure needs are exactly what we have been looking for. We are eager to bring these solutions back to Luanda.”

This partnership marks a crucial step for Rakinda in establishing a strong presence in the Angolan human identification market, leveraging their expertise in 2D imager scanners and Android facial recognition terminals to meet the rising demand for secure and reliable security infrastructure.
